News from 100 years ago The following news items were drawn from the archives of the Mail Tribune 100 years ago Nov. 30, 1922 ASHLAND PROTEST TO BE SETTLED ON DECEMBER 9 The following letters, one from the Ashland school officials to the state athletic board and the other from Superintendent Aubry Smith of the Medford schools to the Ashland officials constitute both sides of the recent disagreement between the two schools in regard to athletics. If the protest is supported by the stat board Medford would forfeit the Armistice Day game to Ashland, but local school officials feel that such will not be the case as the claims in the protest are, they maintain, entirely without validity.
